Cappuccino
Everyone's Darling

Cappuccino has many fans, both in Italy and the rest of the world, but in Brazil it has become a darling . However, not everyone knows that it is possible to prepare an excellent cappuccino at home, without investing in the most expensive machines in coffee shops and bistros. All you need is an espresso machine with steam output and a good understanding of the methodology for both espresso extraction and milk steaming.

A cappuccino usually consists of a mixture of espresso, steamed milk and steamed milk foam in equal parts. Despite this, the drink is made in every corner of the world in different and unique ways. From a variation in quantities to increasing cocoa or cinnamon powder. So let's get ready!

Filtered water
120ml chilled type A whole milk

Utensils

Espresso coffee machine with steamer

Preparation

So let's go to the preparation steps!

Get a double shot of espresso in your cappuccino cup ( how to prepare an espresso ).

Place 120 ml of chilled milk in the pitcher and set aside.

Activate the steamer quickly to eliminate residual water in the tube.

Immerse the tip of the tube in the milk, tilting the pitcher so that when you turn on the steamer, the milk moves in a circular motion like a whirlpool. To generate more froth during steaming, carefully allow the spout to stay out of the milk as little as possible so that air is injected into the milk.

Continue steaming until the milk reaches 85°C and its volume has doubled.

Operate the steam wand again inside the milk to eliminate any bubble residue.

Slightly shake the milk and, if necessary, carefully tap the pitcher on the table to homogenize the milk and eliminate large air bubbles. Tilt the cup and pour the milk carefully to mix it with the coffee, finishing with latte art or simply covering it with milk foam.

Now your cappuccino is ready, taste and enjoy!
