CETEC

Itumirim - MG

With a scientific approach

Fazenda CETEC began with the childhood dreams of brothers Márcio Custódio and Izonel Junior, who were born into humble families and initially worked as coffee pickers. After completing their education, they decided to create their own Technical School, named CETEC – Centro Tecnológico, located in the city of Lavras, in the southern region of Minas Gerais, to provide opportunities for underprivileged children in the region.

After 10 years, they decided to fulfill their childhood dream by purchasing a small coffee farm in the municipality of Itumirim, which means "small waterfall" in the indigenous language. Today, the farm produces high-quality coffee while aligning with environmental preservation, pest control, and fertilization through the application of organic and sustainable practices.

Since he was a child, Márcio would accompany his mother and grandmother on their coffee plantations, developing a deep connection with the land. Despite dedicating himself to education and research throughout his life, his passion for coffee farming has never faded.

Today, he applies all his technical and innovative knowledge to running the farm, which has 144 hectares, 45 of which are productive area. With a scientific approach, Márcio transforms every detail of production into a highly controlled and efficient process, ensuring fermented specialty coffees of exceptional quality.
