Araponga - MG
Mount Sinai Site
Sítio Monte Sinai is located in the countryside of the city of Araponga, in Minas Gerais (Matas de Minas Region), next to beautiful waterfalls and preserved forest. The owner José Mauro Miranda, is at the head of the site that has been passed from father to son in his family for almost a century.
The site is located at an altitude of 1,100 to 1,400m, and the coffee production is all selective. The production is of the Catuaí 44 variety, with an average of 400/500 bags per year.
The owner, Mr. José, is totally dedicated to farming, where most of his family's livelihood comes from:
"I do all the work with a lot of care and love! The climate of our region is also very favorable to produce a coffee of excellent quality."
The site has won several awards, among them: Illy, Emater, Gourmet, BSCA and the region of Matas de Minas. Two years ago, his son dropped out of college and joined his father to devote himself fully to farming. With that, came the rewards: the coffee received the 3rd place prize in BSCA, raising the price to almost R $ 10 thousand a bag.
In the words of Mr. Joseph:
"Everything done with love and under the will of God, it works out."
