The City Hall of Três Pontas, the Coffee Trade Center of the State of Minas Gerais, and the Cultural Association of Friends of Coffee are inaugurating the first Coffee Museum of Minas Gerais. The idea of creating a museum arose from the interest and concern for preserving historical heritage by Isaura Maria de Resende, heir to a coffee farm built by her grandfather at the beginning of the last century.

The farm owner donated the space of an old coffee warehouse for the museum to be established. The warehouse was adapted with an open structure, resembling a Parisian "gare" (station), in the Art Nouveau style, a typical construction of the Belle Époque, the peak of coffee production. In the space, among the historical collection consisting of objects, texts, and photos, a café is being set up to serve delicacies from Minas Gerais cuisine and specialty coffees. Private enterprise collaborated with the project, with the Board of Directors of the Coffee Trade Center of Minas Gerais taking on the first stage of investment in the museum.

The Cultural Association of Friends of Coffee has taken on the role of managing and ensuring the maintenance of the new museum.
