This method of manual coffee maker created in 2005 by the North American company Aerobie, consists of an infusion chamber and a mobile plunger, which when pressed against a paper or metallic filter, extracts a drink that is easy to prepare and of excellent appreciation. As it is an immersion method, which enhances the acidity very clearly in the flavor, it also allows the use of finer grinds.

It is a cost-effective method , simple to handle in addition to being light, portable and very versatile. The method can serve 1-2 people having a capacity of 250ml.

Preparation

How to prepare a coffee in the Aeropress:

  • Place the filter in the AeroPress and scald to eliminate the papery taste and heat the container

  • Add 20g of coffee in the appropriate grind

  • The water temperature should be around 85ºC. If your kettle does not have a temperature regulator, boil the water and wait a few minutes.

  • Initially pour 50-60ml for 30 seconds to hydrate the coffee powder.

  • Finish the rest of the water and stir to thoroughly mix all the solids.

  • Wait 1-2 minutes and start the extraction.

  • Carefully press the plunger into a firm container without using too much force. It is important that the pressure is continuous without interruption.

  • Now just serve and enjoy your coffee!

Not only does this method change the way you enjoy good coffee, it's also super fun to make!
