Farmers in Espírito Santo cultivate two species of coffee: Arabica and Robusta, and it is the second largest coffee producer in Brazil (after Minas Gerais) with a share of approximately 1/5 of national production. Even with so many numbers to celebrate, the current situation of the Arabica coffee plantation deserves special attention. According to data from the National Supply Company CONAB, it is aging and there is a need to accelerate the renovation process. The big obstacle for it to happen is the decapitalization of coffee growers, which happens due to low coffee prices.

Regarding Robusta, Brazil is the second largest producer of Robusta coffee in the world, second only to Vietnam. Due to its low regions and high temperature, this type of culture has been consolidated in Espírito Santo since the end of the 1920s. Currently, the state is responsible for 65% of the national production of Coffea Conilon .

Most cultivated coffee varieties (Arabica): Mundo Novo, Caturra and Catuaí
