Alta Mogiana
The Alta Mogiana region, which is located in the northeast of the state of São Paulo, has had a strong presence of the coffee industry for more than 150 years, exerting great influence in practically all phases of the history of the bean in Brazil.
The name “Alta Mogiana” came about at the time of the railroads. The line that went to the site departed from the city of Campinas, and the classification was based on distance – in Baixa, Medio and Alta Mogiana. Over time, new branches were created, which helped transport production, which helped in the development of the region as a whole.
This region stands out for the large-scale production of Arabica coffees and drinks with strictly soft, soft, just soft and hard characteristics. The average temperature of 20ºC facilitates the cultivation of coffee, but its sandy soil needs correction and fertilization more frequently than other producing areas. The average altitude is between 900 and 1,000 meters.
Most cultivated coffee varieties: Bourbon, Obatã, Mundo Novo and Catuaí
